Top-Up Distribution Management
A major challenge in prepaid mobile services is the disconnection between the operator’s sales force and the operator itself. Typically, the sales force for mobile top-up is employed by several separate entities, and thus communication and knowledge transfer is difficult and the sales process cannot be managed – the sales force is basically an atomized group of order takers.
To address this challenge, and exploit the massive opportunity of turning the thousands of third-party top-up sellers into a real sales force, Tiaxa has developed and deployed mPay, a cutting edge Mobile Top-Up distribution platform, which enables operators to sell physical and virtual, PIN and PIN-less top-ups, through heterogeneous, multi-tiered distribution channels, including traditional distributors, retail chains, financial institutions, own outlets, and others.
mPay allows operators to define their commercial offering on the fly, and to be able to push it to the points of sales in real-time, allowing for up-selling and cross-selling, not only of other mobiles services (ex. special promotions) and products (ex. SIM cards) but also of non-mobile products such as cable-TV and internet bundles for triple- and quad-play operators.
mPay also provides all tiers with real-time information of load purchases, sales and balance as well as commissions owed and accrued, to enable an online management of the sales process and the sales force.
mPay integrates seamlessly into the Operator’s Mobile Money infrastructure as well as third party MFI’s and banks, and thus enables transfers and payments between both networks.
Tiaxa’s mPay has been deployed in a Managed Services model for Movistar Peru, where it manages over US$50 million in transactions per month.
